Attention span: 5/10 It is only v.02 beta. Controls: 4/10 Not very smooth at all. Implementation: 8/10 It looks great. Overall: 7/10 It is only a beta.
It's Monkey Island! You know? That really old PC game. Well, now there's a version for the TI-89. This being only a beta...the file is freakin' huge (over 60K for the exe file and lib)!!!
Other than the overwhelming amount of space, the game looks pretty good. I couldn't get it to do much, but it's implemented pretty well. I foresee great things for this game upon completion. However, there are two little things that bug me right now. First, the graphics are great, but it's a little hard to pick out details (I can't tell if the where the guy is on the screen or if he's even there). Second, on the big map screen, having to press the arrow keys everytime I want the cursor to move is tiring (calculator gamers are lazy). We need to be able to hold the button down to make the little pointer move.
Overall, cool graphics, but at the v.02 beta stage, don't expect much. It still bugs me that it takes up THAT much space though, there must be a way to condense it. |
