These are the plans for an audible MONO calculator speaker that does not lock up your calculator. The original plans were provided by Eric Linenberg. To build a MONO calculator speaker, you will need the following parts: 1. Radio Shack miniature PC BOARD MOUNT PIEZO BUZZER (catalog number 273-074) 2. TI calc-to-calc link 3. Electrical tape Directions: 1. Cut your link near the one of the ends, and take the longer part. 2. Strip off about one inch of the black rubber. There should be an uncovered wire, a red wire, and a white wire. Strip about half an inch off of the red and white wires. 3. On the bottom of the buzzer (see picture below) there are two wires. One is longer than the other. Wrap the white wire around the longer wire, and wrap the red wire around the shorter one. 4. Take a square piece of electrical tape and put it on top of the the two wires so that they are secure. 5. Next, take the uncovered wire and put it in the hole on top (don't put it in too far in or you will get an annoying high pitched buzz). 6. Tape everything up so that the wires on bottom are not in danger of you. Be sure not to put tape over the hole you put the uncovered wire in, or the sound will be muffled. By the time you get done, it should look something like an earphone. 7. Plug the link into your calculator, and buzzer should fit nicely into your ear. This way, you get the sound quality of headphones or earphones at a cost of around $3.00 (the buzzer cost me $3.00 where I live). All you got to do now is start up your game and enjoy!
