Hamurabi, version 1.0, 2017-07-05
Rolf Ptter

Hamurabi is the remake of an old basic game published by David Ahl in his book "BASIC Computer Games". You can find the source code on www.atariarchives.org.

The user's task is to take the role of Hamurabi and to govern ancient Sumeria. He/she is given some crucial data about the city in year 1 by his/her steward ("Hamurabi, I beg to report to you.") He/she has then to enter the numbers of acres to buy and sell, of bushels of grain to feed his people and others for the next year (year 2). The next cycle begins by a report of the steward for year 2.

To run the program, copy the file hamurabi.9xp to your TI-92+ or your Voyage-200. Type
hamurabi(years) on the command line, were years is an integer >1, namely the number of years you want to reign. The program starts, and from time to time you will be asked to press Enter (so that new text can be shown) or to enter a number (please enter only integers >= 0). If you enter a negative number, the steward will terminate his service and the program ends. If you succeed in reigning over the entered number of years, an assessment of your government will be given at the end of the program.

Attention: If you run the program on a TI-89 Titanium, some of the text will be cut off because of the smaller screen.
