Blackj v3.0
Welcome to the next version of Blackj. This version is more stable (quite unlike myself) than the last (I still never figured out why my last version crashed your calc).

Table of Contents:
1. Instructions
2. Bugs
3. Planned additions
4. Other stuff

To begin using blackj:
1. Transfer blackj.89g to your calc. Be sure all of the stuff is put in the blackj folder.
2. Run blackj\blackj() on the homescreen.
3. Tada!

After doing the above, you should arrive at a screen like the following: mainmenu.GIF - 1kb

If this is your first time playing, choose "1:new game"
If you are playing again, choose "2:Open game"
If you do not want to play, choose "3:Quit"

If you choose new game, you will see something like this:

Enter your name or other identifier, remembering that it cannot start with a number, use a function name, include an operation, or be longer than eight characters. In other words, your name has to follow the rules for naming a variable because your name becomes the name of a variable!

For returning champs - or loosers, whichever applies to you - you will see something like this:

Enter the name you entered when you created the game.
For easy entry the next time, the program remembers the last name you entered.

If you don't know the rules to Black Jack, here is a crash course:
Returning veterans can skip to the next part.
The object of the game is to reach 21 without going over 21.
You begin by being delt two cards from the top of the deck.
After reviewing your cards and noticing the computer's show card, you can choose to take more cards - "hit" - or to stop taking cards - "stand."
After taking all of the cards you want, the computer will draw until it feels it has taken enough cards.
When all parties have had their fill, the human's aces are counted (I intend to make a smarter computer later) and each player is scored.

When you:
score 21 in two cards (the two delt to begin the game), you receive 2 times your bet.
score 21 or less and beat the computer in 5 or more cards, you receive 5 times your bet.

Card values are face value unless the card is a:
J, Q, K where it is 10
A where it is 1 or 11. You will not go over 21 if have an A, J, Q. The computer only counts A as 11 if your total will be 21 or less after it is changed.

Returning veterans, HERE IS THE NEXT SECTION:
After starting a game, you will see a screen much like the following:
playmenu.GIF - 1kb

Choosing the play button will start a new hand. If there are 10 or fewer cards in the deck, it will be shuffled. This may take a few moments.
Choosing the quit button will quit the game. DO NOT QUIT THE GAME ANY OTHER WAY. By quitting using the button, your game is saved. Pressing ON will result in a loss of all your money.
Delete account will erase your saved game. I don't know why you would want to do this, but it is there anyway.

During the game, you will always have 3 options:
hit
stand
double down

When you hit, you will be delt 1 card.
When you stand, you end your turn and the computer will start to hit.
when you double down, you hit, multiply your bet by 2, and then stand.

When you push play, you will see this:

Enter your bet on this screen.

Please note:
Do not enter an expression that does not result in a single value.
Do not enter a variable that does not return a value.
Entering a value higher than your current bank will result in a bet of your entire bank.

You will then see a screen sort of like this:
gameplay.GIF - 1kb

Remember: The calc uses a full deck! You can count the cards to increase your odds!
To hit, press F1.
To stand, press F2.
To double down, press F3

After you take your cards and the computer takes his/hers, you will see either of the following:

If you run out of money, your game is deleted and you automatically quit.

bugs
Look, I don't want to know about your insect infestation. If you need assistance because ants have taken over your kitchen sink, then call your exterminator. If you have found a problem with blackj, then mail me.

Planned additions
I plan to add a split hand feature.
The open menu will also get a makeover.
I plan to make the computer count their aces.
Whatever you email that I think isn't stupid, or is stupid but fun. Maybe I would use a stupid thing more quickly than an intelligent thing. Or how about using the stupid stuff and intelligent stuff equally as much. Or how about using the stupid stuff in a "premium" version....
