Starting the game:
Run the program. How easy is that? The dialog box that pops up will have the current high score holder near the bottom. The drop bown box is your skill level: this goes all the way from "What's a mine?" to "MOMMIE!". This affects how many mines you come across. From this screen, hit [ENTER] (you may need to hit it twice) to start. You can also quit from this screen: push [ESC] instead of [ENTER].

How to play:
At the beginning of the level, a dialog will pop up noting how far you are from the current high score. Hit [ENTER] to begin the level. You start at the top-left corner. Use the arrow keys or [0]..[9] to move around. [ESC] pauses (press [ESC] while paused to quit). The number at the upper-right corner is the number of mines surrounding you- pay attention to this number! If you step on a mine, that's the end of the game right there. Move your character to the shaded square to go to the next level. If you do happen to lose and you have a higher score than the current holder, you can put your own name in.

So why two files for documentation, you ask? I say that the .doc is in Word 97 format, and some people may not be able to view it, si I'm including a text version of the documentation. Even though the other file does look cooler :)
