IMPLDIFF (LGM) v1.00 TI-89 "Implicit Differentiation" by Dmitriy Myedvyedyev (aka Dima Medvedev, aka Dimalitious D-Myster) medvedbr@hotmail.com Category: BASIC/MATH/CALCULUS Starting - Completion Date: 03/16/2002 - 03/17/2002 ***THIS PROGRAM IS AVAILABLE WITH MANY OTHER USEFUL CALCULUS PROGRAMS IN A CALCPACK PACKAGE CALLED "CALC1LGM" (available by the beginning of April of 2002) Copyright 2002 Dmitriy Myedvyedyev -------------Description: This program does implicit differentiation. All you do is enter the equation and the program does the rest for you, returning dy/dx in two different formats. The program doesn't necessarily do IMPLICIT differentiation. It can dor egular derivatives too. If you enter something like y = x^4 + 1/2*x, it will return 4x^3 + 1/2. -------------Instructions: Transfer the IMPLDIFF.89P file to any directory on your calculator. When you run the program, you are asked to enter an EQUATION (equation, NOT a function, for example, you must enter "y=sin(x)" instead of just "sin(x)". Then just press enter (or esc to cancel) and you will be given the derivative in two formats: pretty print and a long one-line format. Note that this program does NOT change the mode settings, so you will have to change the settings yourself before running the program. -------------Update(s): None. This is the first version of the program. -------------Known Bugs and Important Notes: As long as you enter a valid function, there should be no errors. Unacceptable inputs include expressions instead of equation (x^2 is incorrect, y=x^2 is correct), the equation y=y (or 2y=2y, etc), equations defined in terms of variable other than x and y. ALL equations MUST be difined in terms of x and y: x is independent variable, y is dependent. -------------Thanks! Thank you for downloading this program by Dmitriy Myedvyedyev.
