CENTEROG (LGM) v1.00 TI-89 "Centers of Mass" by Dmitriy Myedvyedyev (aka Dima Medvedev, aka Dimalitious D-Myster) medvedbr@hotmail.com Category: BASIC/MATH/CALCULUS Starting - Completion Date: 03/26/2002 - 03/28/2002 ***THIS PROGRAM IS AVAILABLE WITH MANY OTHER USEFUL CALCULUS PROGRAMS IN A CALCPACK PACKAGE CALLED "CALC1LGM" (available by the beginning of April of 2002) Copyright 2002 Dmitriy Myedvyedyev -------------Description: This program calculates the coordinates of the center of mass of a region. The user enters two functions that create a region, the density function, and the interval from a to b. Using this data, the program calculates the coordinates of a point (x,y) that is the center of mass of that region. I found this program very useful in my Calculus class -- it's very accurate and saves a lot of time (in my opinion). Try it out! -------------Instructions: Transfer the CENTEROG.89P file to any directory on your calculator. When you run the program, you are asked to enter two functions in terms of x, a density function (if the problem doesn't ask for one, then you can enter ANY numerical value, i.e. 1, 2, 3...), and an interval from a to b. Then just press ENTER (or ESC to exit) and you will be given the coordinates of the center of mass for that region. For now, you will have to enter the function that is on top as f(x) and the function that is on the bottom as g(x). In future versions, the program will choose the top and bottom functions automatically and will have an option of automatically calculating the interval. For an example of this, check out the program VOLUMESR -- Volumes of Revolution -- that program has options of doing things automatically! -------------Update(s): None. This is the first version of the program. -------------Known Bugs and Important Notes: None (just make sure you enter a valid function with no '=') -------------Thanks!
