SIMPSONR (LGM) v1.00 TI-89 "Simpson's Rule" by Dmitriy Myedvyedyev (aka Dima Medvedev, aka Dimalitious D-Myster) medvedbr@hotmail.com Category: BASIC/MATH/CALCULUS Starting - Completion Date: 02-22-2002 - 02-24-2002, three days (for this version only) -------------Description: This program does the Simpson's Rule for you. It estimates areas under curves using this method. It's nice to use it to check your answers, if you are in calculus. In the future I will make a program that also shows all steps. -------------Instructions: Transfer the SIMPSONR.89P file to any directory on your calculator. When you run the program, you are asked to enter a function, partition size (number of intervals), and an interval (from a to b). Then just press enter (or esc to cancel) and you will be given the approximate and exact values. Don't worry, even though there are mode changes during the program, your original mode setting are saved and are restored after the program executes. -------------Update(s): None. This is the first version of the program. -------------Known Bugs and Important Notes: Simpson's rule always requires n (the number of intervals or the size of partition) to be an even number. If you enter an odd number or 0, then the program will keep going forever and you will have to stop it by pressing the ON button. I will try to correct this in the next version of the program -------------Thanks! Thank you for downloading this program by Dmitriy Myedvyedyev.
