*******Vector Addition****** (V.1 / 24JAN02) for TI-83+ / by Taren Nauxen *Programmed in TI-83+ BASIC* **************************** This program adds up vectors and calculates their components. It also graphs the vectors and shows what the sketch should look like. To begin, enter in the number of vectors you want to input. This number is used to create a list, so a number too high will give you a memory error. When entering the values, the "Magn" refers to magnitude, or how long/powerful the vector is. "Angle" should be entered in degrees (your calculator should also be in Degree mode) in standard position. (Start from the +X axis and go counter-clockwise.) Totals are displayed as an ordered pair. This pair (X,Y) is the total of all the vectors- the end of their lines. "Tot" is how long the 'vector sum' is from this point to the origin. "Amp." is amplitude, just a fancy word for angle. This is expressed in degrees from standard position. Hit Enter and the program graphs the vectors you just entered. Usually the window is sized so all vectors are shown, but if you entered some radically different sizes, some vectors might run off the side of the graph. The vectors are graphed in the same order you entered them, except they are added together, tip-to-tail method. The circles drawn at the ends of each are cheap imitations of arrows. Just use your imagination. The final line drawn is the total of all the given vectors. It is graphed with a large circle in the middle of the line. Version 1.0 (Original Release): "And that, as they say, is that." 908 bytes. ************************************ Questions? Comments? Suggestions?
