******************* *B***L***A***C***K* ******************* ***O*****U*****T*** ******************* By: Mattinc Welome to the darkness. No not really. INDEx: index (why, that's right here!!!) Directions (there's a lot of them) Menus (still more) Buttons/and when to use them (Directions and menu sections abbreviated) Legal Ps DIRECTIONS: When you first start the program, it will grid off the screen and draw a great GUI (((Great things take a great amount of time!!! So be patient!!!))) After all of that's done you'll see several things. Numeric labels along the bottom and alphabetic labels along side the great logo. And between the two you'll see a box telling you where the cursor is, if you can't see it all ready. You can push the arrow keys to move the cursor, please note that the box telling you where the cursor is changes as you move. When you have the curor in a good spot, push 2nd. Everytime you push 2nd, just after starting the progam, you'll have to watch it draw the Unit selection menu. At this menu only four keys work. Left & right scroll through the units, clear quits (I think), and 2nd is select. By the way the next time you push 2nd you don't have to watch it draw the menu again. Ye@h! And wa lah! The unit you selected is placed where the cursor is! If you placed the wrong unit or just don't like something in that spot, press delete !!!!!NOT MODE!!!!!! Mode does something special so don't push it! Don't push alpha or clear yet while your at it, we'll come to those later. After your finished laying out your map or building or drawing or what ever, then press clear or mode!! The screen will clear off all of those annoying labels!! And then ask you to enter a name for the file, Adding a name is purely add-on if you don't want to know what it is that you drew then don't worry about it. After you've entered a name press clear or mode or enter, WHAT ANOTHER MENU! This menu is the save menu, four keys work here, clear which quits without saving, 4, 5, and 6 which are pic files. Now, You've saved your files. Here's how to get them back and edit them! Run the program again, Yeah that's right, again. This time push Alpha right on the first screen, It looks like the unit menu is going to pop but instead!! the view menu pops up!! Use left and right to scroll throught the pic files (4,5,6). To view a pic, push 2nd, if it isn't the one you want or your done push any key EXCEPT ALPHA to go back to the view menu (clear exits). If you want to edit the file push alpha. Grid lines and a cursor!! oh boy!! Draw or fix what ever you want. After editing you'll need to rename the file and resave it into a file. And that's all!! simple isn't it.? One minor note, You can overlap units for special effect!!! MENUS: Start menu Contains the cursor and the labels, the basic file, also the first screen Unit menu The menu that you select sprites from View menu The menu for VIEWING and/or editing files Save menu Where you select a save slot BUTTONS/AND WHEN TO USE THEM Left Start, unit, view Right Start, unit, view Up Start Down Start 2nd Start, unit, view, save Alpha Start, View Del Start Mode/clear Start, unit*, View, save *(I think) Enter Name entry Legal: This is shareware, no warranty expressed or implied. Have fun though!!! PS: No ASM was used in the making of this, which is one reason it's so God awful slow! All of the five subs are all basic!! I made each and every one of them! I'm so proud. There aren't any bugs to my knowledge but if you find one, e-mail me about it please! Mattinc m.jenkins@webkorner.com If you like this program then you'll really like Program Manager V 5.0 It's already been released and has one of the best GUI ever!!!! Plus it's a ton faster!! Enjoy
