**********Freecell********** (V.1 / 14JAN02) for TI-83+ / by Taren Nauxen *Programmed in TI-83+ BASIC* **************************** Overview: Just like the Microsoft Freecell. Move all 52 cards from the tableau to the home piles. CAUTION: This program creates a list that takes up about 3000 bytes, so remember to leave that much extra RAM, or else you'll get a memory error. Rules: Cards are stacked in alternating descending order (black, red, black, red-- ten, nine, eight...). You may only move one card at a time. There are four 'free cells' that are used to hold extra cards. It takes a little patience with this game. It IS Ti-Basic, after all. The shuffling consists of three bars moving from left to right. It takes about a minute to shuffle the cards. Once the cards are all set up (blacks are filled shapes and reds are the hollow shapes), you'll see a cursor at the bottom of the screen. This determines which pile a card will be selected from. You can move it using LEFT and RIGHT buttons, or the 'quick method' by pressing the column's corresponding number (Assigned 1 through 8, from left to right) using the number keypad. The cursor will become thicker. It actually has a second cursor now. This one determines where the card will go. Move with LEFT or RIGHT or the numbers, and hit 2ND (or a free cell button). When a stack gets to long for the screen, the cards will simply not appear. To view more of the column, move over to it and hit DOWN. To move the view back up, hit UP. Free cells are accessed with the F-keys. F1, F2, F3, and F4, are each separate cells. Any card can be stored there regardless of the others in other free cells. Free cells are best utilized for moving long strings of cards. Any card may be placed in an empty column. F5 moves a selected card home. A card must be selected (from either a column or a free cell) first. ALPHA moves to home all 'dead' cards. A 'dead' card has no cards of a lower rank in the opposite color. Use this before selecting a column/free cell to move cards home. MODE forfeits the current game. Don't worry, it'll come with experience. ************************************ Questions? Comments?
