SIMPSONR v1.0 TI-83 "Simpson's Rule" by Dmitriy Myedvyedyev (aka Dima Medvedev, aka Dimalitious D-Myster) medvedbr@hotmail.com Category: BASIC/MATH/CALCULUS Starting - Completion Date: 03-01-2002 - 03-02-2002, two days (for this version only) -------------Description: This program does the Simpson's Rule for you. It estimates areas under curves using this method. It's nice to use it to check your answers, if you are in calculus. In the future I will make a program that also shows all steps. -------------Instructions: Transfer the SIMPSONR.83P file to any directory on your calculator. When you run the program, you are asked to enter a function, partition size (number of intervals), and an interval (from a to b). The value approximated by the Simpson's rule is returned. -------------Update(s): None. This is the first version of the program. -------------Known Bugs and Important Notes: Simpson's rule always requires n (the number of intervals or the size of partition) to be an even number. If you enter an odd number, then the program will keep going forever and you will have to stop it by pressing the ON button. If you enter 0, then you get an error "can't divide by zero." In the next version of the program I will have error messages to prevent these errors. -------------Thanks! Thank you for downloading this program by Dmitriy Myedvyedyev.
