I dropped a closing parenthesis at the very end of my answer.  Other than 
that, I see no problems with it.  Perhaps I made a careless error earlier.

How to integrate a rational expression by hand:

1) Convert it into a polynomial expression plus a proper fraction if 
necessary. (The degree of the numerator should be less than the degree of the 
denominator.)

2) Factor the denominator as far as possible with real numbers.  The degree 
of each factor should be one or two.

3) Reduce the fraction into partial fractions.

4) Integrate each fraction separately.
