You can tell the 89 to expand it - expand((e^x-e^(-x))^2) - this gives you (e^x)^2+1/(e^x)^2-2
If you tell it to factor this result, you end up with (e^x-1)^2 * (e^x+1)^2 * e^(-2x)
In general, the best method for getting the kind of answer you want is to play around with telling
the calculator to factor or expand the answer.  It can be kind of quirky, though, like in this
case factoring an expanded answer doesn't return it to its original state.  Also, if you have an
equation solution that comes up with factored results like x=90(n-1) and y=90(n+1), you have to
split it into two equations to get it to expand them.
