It never creates interference.  It just doesn't remove as much as it could.

All pins aren't going to be much better than one, as long as there isn't
too much return current (and since its an open collector interface and not
too much current at that).  As long as the logic ground level is within
+-1v the calc will go on its marry way.  The wire is either grounded or
floating.  Not too many options.
