right- but the point of a checksum is that any change in the ROM alters the
checksum-- if the ROM is altered at all, the checksum gets altered.  it's
EXTREMELY difficult, if at all possible, to get a checksum to line up again
after the data has been changed, and even if you can do it you have to
actually make the data you inserted -useful-.
