RE: TI-H: PIC's & Litestep

OK...I'm only starting here...I don't need to know about external storage and stuff yet. Where can I get a C compiler to compile to 16C84 asm? Also, this may sound like a really dumb question to those of you who know, but can I use a 16C84 programmer to program a 16F84, cos they're essentially the same chip aren't they? I have no idea.

Also, Litestep is great. I've used it for about 6 months now, and I haven't hit any compatibility probs at all. It is a direct replacement for explorer, but it's a bit quicker (I think) and a lot more customisable. It take a little more work to customise it, but there are loads of great themes for it on the litestep.net site (check out luminosity). It is a little difficult to get started with, but once you got it, it all falls together very nicely. Also, it's all open source, which is nice. If you got any questions about it, I can probably answer most of them...
