interfacing computer hardware directly to the motor control areas
of the brains of paralized patients. An electrode with a small
amount of a drug that stimulates nerve growth was implanted
into the patients head. The patient then was trained to try reaching
out to pick up a glass. The electrods were connected to software
that converted the impulses into drive signals for a mouse interface.
Eventually the patient was able to move the mouse cursor around
on the screen to point to various items, indicating his wishes.
 Pretty cool huh?

imagine if a paralyzed person could control an entire remote controlled robot,
and recieve video from a camera on the robot! even though i'm not paralyzed
i would want that! =)
