I quote this from atmel's support group...

"As the RAM and ROM get larger, on any given process, the speed
decreases,
due to wider DEMUX/MUX to address the memory arrays.
Thus the 16MHz of the smallest cores, decreases to 8MHz on the larger

Oh yeah...  AVR has yet to release the 1200 in an 8DIP...  :)  Microchip
has 8DIP...  :)  Also, their 90S2323 or their so called "megaAVR" has been
dated for release.  Where can I get one?  :)
