Well, the TI and I2C high level protocols are different...
but every time the I2C driver made one of the link port lines go
low the E2 firmware would assume that it is trying to send a TI
protocol bit. There is no easy way to have both I2C and TI protocol
devices on the same link port at the same time without them interfering.

The TI protocol is supported by all of the TI calculators, including
the TI-92 and is therefore the most viable way to ensure compatability
with all of the TI graphing calcs.
