I presume you are refering to our typical pentium based desktop
energy beasts and the somewhat-less-hungry laptops?
I feel it necessary to point out that the TI calculators are
full fledged computers in their own right, as are devices such
as the 3Coms PalmPilot and WindowsCE based devices (although
all the WinCE based deviced I have seen are power hungry too).

I read that the average human gives off about 100 watts of heat
when under mild exertion (a cocktail party for instance), and
under high energy conditions can exceed 500W (world class
sprinters and swimmers I suppose).

The other day at the gym I noted that a 5 minute jog on the
treadmil at 5 mph used approximately 7500 calories (real
calories, not dietary calories, which are of course actually
kilocalories).  Unfortunately I don't have my TI handy and
so don't have a quick way to convert this to the equivalent
watt rating, anybody want to give it a try?
