I did the same damn thing man..  don't worry all is not lost..  go to (I think it's rich's page) and get the schematics for the TI-85..  It just takes some common sense to figure out how to fix it.  I think the problem was somefin like it needs to be hooked up to the resistor that's next to that cap.   The schematics should help you out alot.  Any questions just ask, I should have my little copy of the schematics still lying in a box somewhere.
