For starters, look at
www.semiconductors.philips.com/audiovideo/products/radio/carradio/ and
then click on the 'Car radio systems' link. The other links from that page
have some interesting info also.

Bad grammar doesn't usually bother me, just stuff like spelling Intel with
two L's. ;)
