You are correct, but you assume that I like those games, or that he (the guy
w/ the 486) does.  Although the majority of computer nerds love to play
games on their PCs, that does not mean that you can assume every computer
nerd does so.

About consoles vs PCs:
Consoles were designed to play games.  There are _no_ compatibility issues,
save from console to console.  PCs were designed as personal-use computing
devices.  Games are just one out of the billions of things that the PC can
do.  And since nearly every PC differs from one to another, games have to be
made enormously huge to accomodate all possible hardware conditions.  It is
true that because of the internet and rewritable media (HDs), games can get
out quickly and be patched later.  While some or most like this idea, I do
not appreciate the lack of effort in making the game as best as possible on
the first release.
