Hmm... on the contrary, the 286 might be so much better for his conditions.
I have $-300 right now.  I owe ppl money.  If I sold my i486 and my 8088,
the most I could get is about $400, which would leave me with a total asset
of $100.  I doubt anyone could by an overall better computer than my i486
with $100.
