try using cycle pic it flickers and is annoying but it is grayscale! : ) 
your best bet would be to learn assembly or C or some other language because 
they are much faster. also try out the basegrey program for the 89 (i think 
the 92 plus and 89 are very similar)(here is a link

doesn't help then just send another e-mail i have some other good greyscale
