I think that it is a problem with your e-mail software then.  What I would
do is to look for an option to attach files as Binary instead of Text.  I
have no idea what e-mail program you use, so I would have no idea where to
look.  In OE, all of the options are under Tools|Options...  In some other
program it might be View|Options...  I do know that both Outlook and OE
automatically decide the best transfer meathod, although most of the time
they send in MIME format...
