TIB: Re: Announcement!

My cheap two cents:

Qbasic came free with DOS and can be found on the windows 95 CD-ROM.
It's pretty much obsolete if you actually wanna program anything
usefull. Of course you could have fun programming useless programs but
you're time would be better spent learning a "real" programming
language.

If you want an easy programming language for the PC, try Visual Basic.

Java is also pretty simple and I recommend it highly to anyone who
want's to learn to program on computers. The are plenty of tutorials
available, notably at http://java.sun.com where you can also download
everything you need to program in Java, not just applets either, as
most might think. You can also use it to program applications with
nice GUIs. A very good language to introduce yourself to Object
oriented programming and, a major plus is that your programs will run
on almost any platform: windows, mac, linux, whatever.

Face it, TIBASIC is a lousy programming language but what do you
expect from a calculator? QBasic is almost as lousy, but that's on a
computer... get the idea?
