There is a better solution than all that you spoke of.  I don't own an 86, 
but I', assuming that there will be a command called 'FnOff '.  If you think 
about when you graph, it is possible to select only a few equations to graph 
manually, well the 'FnOff ' command does this.  If you put a number like 
'FnOff x' then it will turn off equation number x.  If you use just 'FnOff ', 
then it turns all equations off.  If this makes no sense, don't worry and 
just select 'FnOff ' from your catalog.
