TIB: Will TI ever introduce a C based Calculator?

I've recently gone from BASIC to C, err, well - I've known C++ for
YEARS, but I've gotten into Hardware Driver Programming and the such.

If TI would make a C based Calc, it'd be easier for 3rd parties to
create add-ons for the calculator using the Link-Port (or whatever future
expansion ports exist).

Not to mention the code would be much easier to manipulate, and read . .
. And once compiled would be faster than the current "TI-BASIC" language . .
.

Please give me all your thoughts on this, as I'm interested in hearing
others opinions . . .
