I have read some messages about having libraries made _exclusively_ for 
Usgard, or whatever shell... This would also create massive 
incompatibility problems if a program _by itself_ could function on 
multiple shells, but a library it uses would only be accessable while 
running one shell.

How about coming up with some standard library format to prevent this 
from happening?  Besides, why should people have to compile a library 
(same library) just so it can be used on more than one shell?
