It is a little inconvenient, but the idea is to differentiate between tmpCnv() and delta-tmpCnv(). 9°F on the
thermometer is -12.78°C, but 9°F movement is an equivalent amount to 5°C movement. Never mind that
people almost always want the former conversion and not the latter.
