l took the PSATs just last Saturday and there were actually a few math
problems on there that l'm glad l had my calculator for.  For example, with
my TI-89 you can compare two expressions using the = sign and if they are
equal, it will say "true."  On the last question it was something along the
lines of 5^(x) + 2^(x+y) = ? .  So l had about 3 seconds left to compare that
expression to the first answer choice, the TI-89 responded "true" and l put
it down on the answer sheet and time was up.
