In a message dated 98-01-29 08:51:50 EST, you write:

Why was it a problem to get the line segments the same length?
Couldn't you just use polar coordinates to vary the angle of each line
segment, while still retaining a certain length. I don't really know
what I'm talking about with slope fields and I could be way off base -
it was just an idea. >>

Jody:

That idea of polar coordinates never occurred to me. Why? Because I was
using Draw, I think, and I don't think you can draw in polar coords????

I'm not sure how do do it with polar. I think it is do-able, though. The
polar idea is OUTSTANDING, though. It solves my major problem.

Keep me posted. I had a lot of fun with DIRF, and fellt VERY GOOD when it
finally ran correctly! It is almost exactly the same as the dir- / slope-
fields on the 86.

What was happening to me was, that, at 1st, I made the x-projection the same
for all segments. This meant that when the slope approached vertical, the
segments got very long in the vertical direction & ran over neighboring rows
of segments.
