It is illegal to distribute the ROM in any way. However, your friend can
possess
a ROM, but he must have taken it from his calc and not yours. The ROM kinda'
belong to TI, and you have bought a permission to use one, along with your
calc.
It's like having a i.e Win95 licsense, (Don't complain about my spelling) you
can use the program, and have backups of it, but you can't give it to a friend.
It still belongs to Microsoft, but you have a permission to use it.
