To all new to the ti-8x/Those wanting link cables.

You can't reproduce the GRAPHLINK. The graphlink actually has a
processor in the block attached to the cable, that converts RS232 (ie:
modem language) to any TI-xx link language and back. To remake that,
you are going to have to burn the rom and all that all by yourself,
and shelling out 35 bucks is your better option by far.

However, you CAN make a PLAIN LINK. this doesn't convert anything. I
don't see much point in converting to RS232. You simply connect the
red and white wires to the parallel or serial port and write a PC
program to send/recieve any TI-xx link port protocol. This is how the
bulk of us do it, since these can be bought for about 10 bucks, or
made with about 4 to 5 dollars spent on parts. you CANNOT use the
windows software TI has on their website http://www.ti.com, but you
can use CAL and LINK85X, and stuff like that. dos utilities that
transfer files, simply put.

Plans, games, oses, reviews, general information, and a lot more can
be found at the two major archiving sites for the TI-xx calculators.

http://www.ticalc.org easiest URL :-)

-or-

ti-files... I forgot the url (it's a bit more complicated.) just do a
search.

ticalc tends to have software earlier than ti-files though. They also
both carry the linkport plans for both a serial and a parallel link.
