Re: Storing and retrieving formulas?

At the Home Screen, type the name of the variable you want to contain the
formula, the equal sign, and then the formula. For example:

VOLUME=L*W*H

To use the formula, in this case, the volume of a rectangular prism, store the
values of L, W, and H, and then type the formula variable name. For example:

5->L
6->W
7->H
VOLUME

and the answer will be displayed. There is no +/- sign, so if a formula
contains that, you'll just need to create two formulas and save them in two
variables. By the way, you don't need to save the quadratic formula, because
the TI-85 has a built in polynomial solver. For quadratics, press 2ND-POLY,
then enter 2, and then enter the values.

Subject:        Storing and retrieving formulas?

I am new to the TI-85 and need some assistance in storing a formula such as
the Quadratic Eq. formula and how do I retrieve the formula later without
retyping it in?

Also in the Quadratic formula there a +/- sign.. which is not on the
keypad... what is my way around this?

Many Thanks,
John Bankson
