Here's the explanation for the '92 doing this.  When you put the -27 in
parenthesis, you indicate to the calc that -27 is a complex
number/polynomial,
so instead of treating your request as a "real" cube, it will give you
the
answer as a complex number.


The point being, only use () when you absolutely have to.
