Folks,

There is no updated syllabus today (my office hours were full with =
students
and some other unexpected things came up) but there are some points that =
I
can bring to your attention now:

1. Next week we'll begin Chapter 4 of Weiss: so you can start reading =
it.

2. I'm considering postponing the next exam, so that we can have
sufficient time to cover all of inheretence.

3. With regard to project 2:

- we've not given you much further guidence on the design diary: just =
try
to elaborate key design issues that you've considered, stages you went
through in design and implementation, how to use the software, etc. If =
you
wrote a very long document last time, try to keep things concise; in the
opposite case, try to elaborate more.

- some questions have come up about partial credit, i.e., what happens =
if
you get the paint functionality working but not the draw? We can't at =
this
time give you a point breakdown, but it is certainly not 50/50, sincce a
good deal of the new programming is in the data structures.

4. Bob Cook's office hours on monday will be from 11am-12:30PM.
