There's enough space inside the TI-89 to drive a semi through, so if I were you,
I would place a coin battery holder inside and hook that up.

Of course, if your calc freezes then you end up removing the case so you can
take out your back-up of your backup.

But then, why does it matter?  Don't you have a backup of your calc on a
computer?  Do you actually need these 'books' on your calculator during math
class?

Since you are trying to circumvent your teacher's methods, you probably do have
something to hide, and are breaking the rules for that institution.  Makes me
wonder if the trouble you are going to is really worth it....
