RE: A89: All Quiet on the western front




In the context of the book, the western front was the western face of
Germany where much of the fighting went on in the Great War (World War I).

If anybody cares, the Western Front is anything west of the atlantic ocean
(N. and S. America). It was named way back before the american colonies,
when nobody had ever been further west.
