Ha, even the original GB is better than the 89.  For one, the 89 doesn't
have, and will never have 4-channel stereo sound.  The GB also has a higher
resolution, and the ROMs can have more mem than the 89.

If we were just comparing processors, then yes, the 89 would even be better
than the (someone correct me here) ~8Mhz (Dual-mode, for older GB games)
Zilog chip on the GBC.  So why is the GBC so much better?  It is better
because it has a lot more hardware in it's smaller case.  I think TI could
have put a GB-like link on the 89 for only $5 per calc, and that would
greatly improve the 89.  Other things to consider are built-in mem on the
calc, but more mem available on the GBC, 4ch stereo sound on the GBC, and of
course... batterlife and b/w/color LCDs.  Hehe, that would be cool to see
the GBC support APD... =)
