If you deleted pfe instead of uninstalling it, then it couldn't remove the
keys it added to your regestry.  I suggest you reinstall and then uninstall
pfe.

But if this is not the case, then you will have to edit the keys yourself,
but thankfully, MS has made this an easier chore.  In any folder window,
goto View|Folder Options and click on the tab File Types.  Goto the key that
windows tells you your .asm files are (ie: ASM file or PFE Assembly Code,
etc.) and then click the Edit button.  Down in the Actions list, select Open
and click on the Edit button.  Change the path of pfe to that of whatever
app you wish to open .asm files with.  Click OK until back at the folder
window and then press F5 to refreash the window.  Now your files should open
with the program you chose.
