A89: Bug in putsprite

I've noticed a bug in putsprite. If you run the test prog enough then
what happens is that you get (on the status bar) these light gray
things that turn out to be from what was on the screen a few times
ago. You'll see what I mean. The best way to do this is to enter
'graytest()' on the prompt and then do the following about 10 times:
Hit 'enter'
Hit 'esc'
Then what you get is if you hit enter again you'll see light gray on
the status bar.
P.S.
Could someone please post how to call each routine (especially the one
for restoring backgrounds. What's that for again?)
