You have to take the screw out of the backup battery holder first.  Then you have to pry the case apart, it snaps together at the top and sides.

yeah l'd like to open up mine too.  my number 4 button is sticking like they
did on the 83s and if someone could tell me how to open it l would.  l took
the screws out on the bottom but it still held really well.
