A86: Done some z80 work intrested in ti86, had some questions maby someone could answer...

A little background, sorry but it has to be done, I can program fairly
suffeciently on a z80 processor, most of my stuff is for the GameBoy(R),
although I have done some stuff for the ti85 (never relesed to the
public).

*	Why do we need a shell for the 86? A shell for the 85 is
understandable because you need it in order to "break" (for lack of
better words) into the processor. On the 86 and I belive the 83 it is
not nessicary the calculator itself gives you asm accsess, so why is
everyone interested in building a roubust shell that no one needs. A
year ago (when I was intrested in the ti85) there was one shell, ZShell,
and USGard (sory if i spelt this wrong) was gaining popularity for
several reason, from the advanced programers standpoint. But now there
are 3 million shells for the 85, and more stupidly (heaven forbid) the
83 and 86.

*	Who is working on the decompiliation of the ti86 rom image? And may I
help?

*	I have made in pascal an extremly usful hexeditor/ disasembler/
asembler/ emulator. The thought behind it is there are two segments of
of a program, data and code. The program is used as a disasembler, but
it has many tools to help you distinguish between code and data. The
emulation part for example begins executing code, from a PC and status
of your choice, until it hits a piece of code that requires external
input, marking all executed code as well, code. Unfortunatly it's
designed for GB, however I am serious considering porting it. If there
is a want for such a port please express the need. Also, if ported I
think it woul be good to be able to show the Data segments as their
corect form, i.e. sprites shown as sprites (i've done it for the typical
GB fromats).
