A86: Great... An 86 Emulator and no decent ROM dump program

Well, a TI-86 emulator has been released and there's no decent program
to dump the ROM...

Except some damn annoying program that requires you to buy about $40-$50
of hardware (graphlink, null modem cable, 9600 bps modem -- try finding
one of those now, and a converter cable). Can someone please just make
a ROM dump program similar to the one the 85 uses -- one that can dump
via the link port? That would be a helluva lot easier to use since I'd
wager most everyone in this list has one and could dump it easy.

Now on the other hand, it WOULD be nice if someone could just post the
goddamned ROM dump on this list instead of bitching and moaning about
how illegal it is. Yeah, it's illegal assuming someone who doesn't
already own the 86 uses it. But it's not like TI is going to be losing
mounds of cash on people using emulators -- in fact it might encourage
someone to go out and but an 86.

This is just like when Nesticle (a nintendo emulator) hit it big.
People were scared of distributing ROM dumps since they too are illegal
if you don't already own the original cartridge. But the difference
between these two is that there's a whole lot more people illegally
getting NES ROM dumps than people illegally getting calculator ROM
dumps. The difference with NES ROM dumps is that people basically
realized that Nintendo is losing about $0 seeing as how the NES isn't
even being sold anymore.

The point is... if you've got the ROM dump, please, lighten up and just
post it on this list or bit.listserv.calc-ti. It's a victimless crime,
yet SOME people are acting like it's a felony to share the ROM dump with
people who might have a little trouble getting it themselves.
