A85: Re: game idea

some of the games i made first were games like slot machine games, black
jack, tic-tac-toe, etc. they have helped alot in teaching me the
language. one thing you might consider is something original,
programmers should have some imagination also not just programming
skills. lights out, memory, i don't know how advanced you want this to
be but maybe a popular board game such as checkers or chutes and ladders,
uhm let's see, risk, othello, maybe Conway's Life program, Hogan's Alley
type game, duck hunt, quake(am i being realistic? ;) mine sweeper, i
don't know how difficult pipe dream would be, i also take a look at many
atari games and try to recreate them, you don't have to be limited to
games either, try a program that can use a lot of physics or mathematic
functions, kiddies love you for that, a real challenge that would take
more thought and time than getting to know the language is an aritificial
intelligence program like those virtual pet things, also what you can do
that i often find helpful is get source code to other games, rewrite them
try to make them more efficient and then improve on them and overall buff
them up. any way i gotta get to college now so just think about it
awhile, don't rush into a program it WILL take time
