LZ: ZWorld Pre-FAQ

----- ZWorld FAQ v1.0 -----

1. What is ZWorld?
ZWorld is the "complete" ZShell site. It combines a "LIVE" emag with
        a "LIVE" site. It's kind of a combination between Ticalc.Org, C|Net
Central, Node 99, and PC Magazine.

2. What does "LIVE" mean?
"LIVE" means that the site will be updated constantly, meaning that
the emag will be updated, along with site, on a regular, on demand
        basis, not just daily.

3. So what makes this site different from Ticalc.Org?
Ticalc.Org is the ultimate TI-Calculator site. It has everything you
could ever need for the calculator. But due to the broadness of the
site, it can't focus on what I believe to be the best part of the
calculator, ZShell. Also, Ticalc.Org is just a file ARCHIVE for
ZShell, ZWorld contains much much more.

4. So what DOES ZWorld contain?
I thought you'd never ask! =) ZWorld contains pretty much anything
and everything you could want for ZShell. From the most popular
parts, to the most obscure, ZWorld has it all. This is what I plan on
including in ZWorld, keep in mind this is a "beta" of the list. Things
will be added to this list, but probably not removed:

                Up-To-Date: (with screenshots)
                        Archive (up to the minute)
Reviews (as the games/programs are released)
                        Previews

Main Article (whatever is the hot topic)
                Letters to the Editor
                Rumor Mill
                Assorted Writer Columns
                ZShell Wish List
                Interviews (programmers, etc...)
                Hardware Addons (sound, memory, etc...)

Thumbs Up / Thumbs Down (Who/What's hot and what's not)
                2ND-MEM-RESET (Abort-Retry-Fail spinoff... Humor column)
                High Score Hall of Fame
                Cheat Sheet (for games)
                Virtual Calc (in the works!)
                IRC Bot (for IRC offering)

ZWorld also hopes to be the official site for:
                #calc-ti
                UnLockIt

5. What's the tone of ZWorld going to be?
The ZWorld tone will be that of a humorous one. We'll often poke fun
at calculator related activities, such as certain "companies" who
spam over unrelevant mailing lists. CoughCoughNUKEWARECoughCough. =)

6. Who is on the ZWorld staff?
Currently... Me... =)... And at the moment, I am not looking for
anyone. I'm going to try to get this thing off the ground by myself,
and build from there. Later on, I plan to have a pretty extensive
        staff.

7. Can I contribute to ZWorld in anyway?
ZWorld is based around the idea of "User-Input"... If you've got
something you'd like to see in ZWorld, just email me with it! <Not
yet though, I'm still planning... I'll notify when I need articles.>

8. What if there's a non-article that I want to have on ZWorld?
The only thing I can think of is that you'd want ZWorld to be the
official distribution site for your program... What does that mean?
It means that your program will get a seperate page, giving all info
you could possibly want on it... Oh, and when its distroed, I'll
upload it to there THEN ticalc.org... =) Let me make this clear though
We at ZWorld would be HAPPY to have your program officialy distrubuted
        at our site.

9. What kind of staff for ZWorld will you be needing?
It's hard to say at this point. I know I'll be needing an artist, but
I already have one in mind if he's interested. Other than that, I will
need columnists, irc bot programmers, and other assorted people.

10. How can I contact you?
Contact me at <mhayden@poboxes.com>... NOT THROUGH THE LIST. That
really pisses many people, including me, off.

11. WHEN WILL ZWORLD OPEN!?
Hard to say at this point. It's still in the basic building stage.
Little/None of the HTML coding has been done, but the ideas are
already laid out on paper. So, I wont give a ballpark figure, but I'll
keep those on List-ZShell and in #calc-ti updated.

12. Aren't you the guy who thought up/wrote ZGuide, then dropped it?
Yes, I am. The reason I did that was because school was starting, and
I just didn't have enough time for it. Now, I'm nestled in at school,
and this should be followed through on.

That's about it... If anyone has any questions, that they'd like answered
live, come to #ZWorld Friday night (tomorrow) at 9:00PM CST. If I am not
there, check in #calc-ti.
