Think about what you just said... if it were true you could take two
calcs playing tetris and hook them together with the link, and play
against each other. See, software has to be WRITTEN to use the link
port. If you plug headphone into your port, you don't hear sound unless
you're using a program that sends info to the port. True, the 85 does
monitor the port (in the ti-0s, not zshell) for a screen dump, but it
doesn't transmit anything. But something that might be implemented is a
UNIX-like protection scheme (really not needed), where passwords are
NEVER decoded. That is, an entered password is encoded and compared to
the original password (which is also encoded). This way, you have to
break the original encryption, which is (theoretically) more difficult.
